Common chemical testing mistakes
Screening Only
An XRF screen isn’t a full RoHS result. Phthalates and chromium VI need wet chemistry.
Wrong Detection Limit
A method that can’t detect below the legal limit gives a useless ‘not detected’.
Homogeneous Parts Missed
RoHS applies to each homogeneous material, so a whole-product grind can hide a failing part.
Outdated SVHC List
The REACH Candidate List grows twice a year; old reports may not cover new substances.
