Railway & Defence

RDSO and MIL-STD-461 EMC

Two of the most demanding EMC programmes in India.

Railway EMC for RDSO vendors EN 50121 via RDSO spec

Rolling stock, signalling and trackside electronics are tested to the parts of EN 50121 called up in the RDSO specification, at RDSO, government or NABL-accredited labs in RDSO’s order of preference.

MIL-STD-461G for defence CE / CS / RE / RS

We map your platform (ground, ship, aircraft) to the applicable CE, CS, RE and RS requirements, arrange testing at labs with MIL-STD-461 scope, and combine it with MIL-STD-810H environmental testing where the spec asks.

How It Works

Your EMC testing in five steps

Chamber time is expensive, so we confirm the test levels, operating modes and monitoring set-up before booking.

1

Standard & Test Plan

We confirm exactly which standard, clauses and tests apply, and why: certification, tender, export or customer approval.

Day 1
2

Lab & Fixed Quote

We choose a lab whose accreditation scope covers your tests and send one written quote with cost and turnaround.

Day 1–3
3

Samples & Documents

You send samples, datasheets and any drawings or specs. We check quantities so testing isn’t held up.

Day 3–7
4

Testing & Updates

The lab tests to the plan. Early failures are flagged straight away so you can fix and retest quickly. Witnessing on request.

Why Bizpro

Why manufacturers use us for EMC testing

Right Lab, First Time

We match your tests to a lab whose accreditation scope actually covers them, so the report is accepted by BIS, TEC, CDSCO, RDSO, a buyer or a tender committee.

One Point of Contact

Test plan, quotes, samples, follow-ups and report review are handled by one specialist, not passed between lab departments.

Testing Linked to Certification

Reports are planned for the approval you need next, from BIS and TEC to CE and FCC, so you don’t pay to test twice.

Pan-India Support

EMC testing for businesses across India

We work with accredited EMC labs in Bengaluru, Delhi NCR, Chennai, Pune, Hyderabad, Mumbai and other centres, and arrange testing for clients anywhere, including:

Avoid Failures

Common EMC testing mistakes

Skipping Pre-Compliance

A quick pre-scan finds most emission problems before you pay for full chamber time.

Undefined Pass Criteria

Immunity results need performance criteria agreed in advance, or the lab can’t call a pass.

Wrong Configuration

Cables, peripherals and operating mode must match real use and the standard’s set-up.

Missing Support Equipment

Labs need loads, simulators and monitoring software to run and watch the product.

Quick Answers

Common questions about emc testing

Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing checks two things: that a product doesn't emit electromagnetic interference above set limits (emissions or EMI), and that it keeps working when exposed to interference such as ESD, surges, RF fields and power disturbances (immunity or EMS).
There's no single EMC law for all products, but EMC is mandatory inside several approvals: TEC's Essential Requirements for telecom equipment, AIS-004 for vehicles under CMVR, IEC 60601-1-2 for many medical devices, and railway and defence specifications. It's also required for CE marking and FCC for exports.
EMI (electromagnetic interference) tests measure what your product emits, by conducted and radiated emissions. EMS (electromagnetic susceptibility) or immunity tests check how it copes with ESD, surges, fast transients, RF fields and voltage dips.
MIL-STD-461G is the US defence standard for controlling electromagnetic interference of equipment and subsystems. It defines conducted and radiated emission tests (such as CE102 and RE102) and susceptibility tests (such as CS114 and RS103), selected by platform. Indian defence and DRDO specifications often call it up.
Railway equipment is typically tested to the EN 50121 series, which covers rolling stock, signalling and fixed installations. For Indian Railways, the RDSO specification for the item states which parts apply.
A standard emissions and immunity package for a commercial product usually takes three to seven working days of chamber time once booked. Defence and automotive programmes take longer. Pre-compliance testing first can save repeat bookings.
Failures are common on first test. We get the lab's data, help your engineers identify likely causes such as filtering, grounding or cable shielding, and rebook only the failed tests where the standard allows.
