Halal Certification

Halal certification for exports to Gulf, Southeast Asia and beyond.

Meat exporters need i-CAS Halal for DGFT’s listed markets, and food, ingredient, cosmetic and pharma brands need certifiers their destination market recognises. We map your products and markets, prepare ingredient and process documentation, and coordinate the audit with the right certification body.

Quick Answers

Common questions about Halal certification

Halal certification confirms that a product's ingredients, processing, handling and storage meet Islamic dietary requirements. It's often a condition of sale in Muslim-majority markets and for many global food and consumer brands.
For meat and meat products exported as halal to the countries listed by DGFT, yes: the product must be produced, processed and packed in a facility certified by a body accredited under the India Conformity Assessment Scheme (i-CAS) Halal. DGFT introduced this in April 2023 and expanded the country list in 2026.
Yes. Destination authorities in the Gulf, Malaysia, Indonesia and elsewhere recognise specific halal certification bodies. A certificate from an unrecognised body may be rejected at import.
Meat for listed export markets needs it by rule. For processed foods, ingredients, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals and food service, it's usually a buyer or market requirement.
Typically 4 to 8 weeks, depending on the number of products and ingredients to verify and audit scheduling.
